Curious that in a post about the accuracy of the movie, you inaccurately state that Woody Guthrie was in the hospital with Parkinson's Disease. It was, of course Huntington's Disease. I haven't gotten to the rest of the piece yet.
Thanks for the review and making me realize I now 100% have no interest in seeing this film. I believe I've seen everything there is to see about Bob Dylan in documentary form as well as filmed concert appearances and that's enough.
Well, Barbara, that wasn't the intention in the review. The film is actually quite compelling once you let go of the need for accuracy. I recommend seeing it.
I did the exact same thing last night but told my wife who watched “A Complete Unknown” with me that I was buying the movie for her upcoming 70th birthday next week even though she had taken me to see the movie in a theatre on the day after Christmas for my Christmas gift from her. Last night, she just smiled slightly and rolled her eyes. She knows that Bobby Z. and me have a spiritual connection of some kind. “Like A Rolling Stone” indirectly led a twenty year old me to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and my heartfelt prayer for Bob Dylan soon thereafter might have been what led him a few years later to profess Jesus as his Savior too, a public profession that he has never renounced either from what I’ve been able to ascertain.
Not to rain on your prayer parade, but I heard it was a fan who threw a necklace with a cross at a concert that started it. Plus, he was in a low place from his divorce, which is where conversions usually start, in the lowlands.
You didn’t rain on my parade, Bro, and I didn’t mean to imply that my stray prayer by itself turned the soteriological trick, but if this stuff is real, then it undoubtedly played a part. Right? 😎
Well, it doesn’t help me believe because I already believe, and that’s why I prayed for Bob Dylan back in the summer of 1977, but me and Bobby Z and Jesus are gonna compare notes one day in Glory, and I’m really looking forward to that. That Jesus really does work in mysterious ways, and I can sure give a witness to that! 😎
Chelle and I saw the early 4PM show New Year's Eve at AMC Nashua. Over the past year, I had been playing through a DYLAN song book, that I bought some time ago, so I was thoroughly primed. Over the following week, we followed up with No Direction Home and other Scorsese out take compilations. This is remedial Dylan studies for her ; ) A good time was had by all : )
Playing guitar? I didn't know you played an instrument. I listened to the soundtrack some of it, yesterday, and it's pretty astounding what Chalamet did. At times, you'd swear it was Bob. Well, glad to hear Chelle is getting her Dylan education and enjoying it.

Thank you! I appreciate the heads up. Dyslexia of the brain. Sometimes I hit the publish button too soon.

Well, who am I to say, my brother. I believe in prayer, I can say that. If something helps you to believe, then believe it.

He always was a mysterious guy...
Still is and always will be, but He’s a Good Friend of sinners like me and Bobby Z., as well as our Savior and Lord, of course. https://youtu.be/IcB8KPc9wHk?feature=shared
